The Touchwood School, Kashipur is a co-educational school run by a registered educational,non-commerical society based on CBSE pattern. The medium of instruction is English. The school aims at equipping the students with integrity, courage and compassion to face the challenges of the modern world.
The school regards education as an integral formation of the human persona for the fulfillment of her/his individual social responsibilities. Hence special efforts are being made to help the students :-

Inter House competitions (in sports & co-curricular activites) are held throughout the year. The House Masters/Captains and students work hard to win the Competitions each year.

Summer :
Pre-Primary : 7:50 AM - 12:00 Noon
Class I-X : 7.50 AM - 1:30 PM
Winter :
Pre-Primary : 8:25 AM - 12:30 PM
Class I-X : 8.25 AM - 2:00 PM

2. School will remain closed on the last Saturday of the month.

3. Kindly see that you child gets to school on time. A fine may be charged from late comers.

Nur. to II : Maroon Pullover, Maroon School Jacket.
III to X : Maroon Pullover, Maroon School Blazer.
Detailed instructions regarding school fees are given in the fee card. Parents must ensure that all school fee dues are paid on time. A ‘Late Fee’ fine will be applicable in case school fee is not paid by the stipulated date as mentioned in the fee card. The fee is subject to a 10-15% increase each year. A fine of Rs.200/- shall become applicable for a dishonoured cheque. If there are two such instances the name of the child will be struck off the school rolls.
Students whose fee and other school dues are not cleared and are not upto date will not be allowed to sit for the half yearly / final examination.
1. There will normally be no re-tests or re-examinations.
2. Parents need not be upset by a child being genuinely sick during tests. If the child does good work consistently, such cases are decided on the basis of the entire term’s work and continuous assessment tests. A detailed medical certificate by an MBBS / MD doctor must be submitted.
1. At The Touchwood School, the students and staff,all take pride in : (a) The maxim : ‘If it’s worth doing, it is worth doing well’. At study or play we should work inasy stematic and disciplined manner and to the best of our ability.
(b) Respecting each other’s feelings and religious beliefs.
(c) Being helpful and courteous to each other and to any visitor whom we may meet on the school premises.
(d) Always remembering that 'Please',' Thank You' and 'Sorry' are the most beautiful words to put into practice. 2. The admission of a child to the school means complete acceptance by the parent / guardian of all school rules laid down / amended from time to time. Rules are subject to change at the discretion of the school management.
3. Students and Staff, are all required to report to school five minutes before the bell rings for morning assembly.
4. It is mandatory for parents to sign the Principal's and Teacher remarks in the Diary. Parents signature / acknowledgement of a remark implies that appropriate follow up / remedial action is being taken. This is essential for the ultimate benefit of the child.
5. All children should come to school clean and tidy,and in their complete school uniform.
6. All children should be particularly careful not to litter on the school premises. They should use the bins especially provided for that purpose. Polythene bags are strongly discouraged.
7. Students are required to speak in English while at school, both in the class room and on the play ground.
8. No child may leave the school premises during school hours without the written permission of the Principal and the Class Teacher.
9. The guardian of the Pupil is liable to pay for or replace any damage to the school property without any delay or dispute.
10. Proper transport arrangements must be made by the Parents / Guardian to drop and collect their wards on time. The school can not be held responsible for the safety of the pupil before and after school hours.
11. All students should go straight home after school.
12. Parents / Guardian are not allowed to visit the teachers in the classroom. Prior appointment should be made though the School Diary or permission sought from the office.
13. Politeness and good conduct on the part of the students and teachers is very important. Students,staff and parents should always be polite to each other.
14. Abusive language, shouting and screaming is not allowed in the school premises.
15. During recess and before morning assembly students should not be inside the class rooms.
16. Students are not allowed to celebrate birthdays in school.
17. Names of students who are absent without sanctioned leave for six consecutive days, will be struck off the school roll. Re-admission will only be at the discretion of the Principal subject to a vacancy and a re-admission fee will be charged.
18. Please note that requests for HALF DAY leave will not be entertained.
1. The school expects the parents co-operation to ensure that : (a) The children come to school punctually and regularly and are neatly and properly dressed.
(b) The children's text and exercise books are neatly covered, correctly labelled and brought to school as per the school time table.
(c) Homework and practice exercise are regularly done and children follow an early to bed routine on week days.
2. Parents are also expected to abide by School rules and take an active interest in the activities of the school.
3. Parents are informed that their children may be sent home for coming late to school.
4. Parents are especially requested to notify the school immediately if there are any changes in address or telephone number.
5. When communicating with the Principal,parents are requested to mention in their letters the name, class and section of their child / children.
6. Any message for a teacher or students may be given to the school office staff who will be glad to pass it to the person concerned. Only in an emergency will the teacher or students be called from the class.
7. Parents may not meet the students during school hours. In case of an emergency an application must be submitted in advance to the principal and prior permission obtained.
8. All articles found on the school premises will be placed in the lost and found box. Students may claim these during school hours. Please label all items of clothing belonging to your child. This makes lost articles easier to trace. Articles not claimed are given to a charitable institution at the end of the session.
9. As the medium of instruction in this school is English, parents are requested to ensure that there is a certain amount of regular English conversation at home as this would help the children to follow their lessons easily.
10. Valuable articles are not allowed in the school premises and the school is not responsible for any loss or damage. Children are not permitted to wear any jewellery in school. If they are found doing so, it will be confiscated.
11. Students are prohibited from bringing any electronic devices / mobile phones / digital diaries to the school.
12. Parents are requested to ensure that the students bring their tiffin in the morning. In the interest of security, tiffin / lunch packets sent later will not be accepted.
1. Never omit the lesson or homework assigned, if you do so, it is like missing a train that you can never catch afterwards.
2. Always revise the work done in class and make sure that you have understood everything clearly and throughly.
3. If learning task is assigned, memorize it overnight and repeat it in the morning.
4. Always take down in your diary the work that is assigned for the next day.
5. All home work should be done neatly and the day's work should always be dated. Each new homework should be done on a fresh page.
6. Revise all that has been taught in class each day,whether this has been set to be studied or not.Hence the same amount of time should be given to study each evening whether written home work is given or not.
1. Leave will be sanctioned only if applied for, on the prescribed Leave Application Form.
2. Leave application must be submitted before proceeding on actual leave. Sanction for half day would be considered only in case of emergency. 3. Leave exceeding three days shall require the prior sanction of the Principal.
4. Leave of absence will not ordinarily be granted on the first and the last day of the school term.
5. Those students who are absent on the first day of the term may lose their seat unless a written application, stating a valid reason for absence is submitted to the Principal well in time.
6. Except on duly certified grounds, no extensions of vacations is allowed.
7. Names of students who are absent for six consecutive days without a written leave application will be struck off the school roll. Re-admission will be at the discretion of the Principal, subject a vacancy and on payment of re-admission fees.
8. Pupils suffering from any infections or contagious disease (i.e. measles, chicken pox, cholera, mumps,whooping cough and eye flu) should not be sent to school.Partial leave of absence shall not be granted. Once the child attends the school it is understood that he/she is well enough to stay in school the whole day, hence shall not be allowed to leave early.
9. Students will not be granted leave on the day before the Unit Test or Examinations.
10. For exemptions from P.T. or games, the student must produce a doctor's certificate to the effect that he / she is physically unfit.
(For students who avail of the transport facility) 1. Conveyance charges are to be paid for twelve months irrespective of the vacations.
2. One month's notice must be given before withdrawing a child from the bus or one month's conveyance fees in lieu of notice must be paid.
3. Routes of the School transport are drawn up and prescribed by the School and all Bus Stops are decided by the School authorities.
4. Children will Not be dropped at their door step.
5. Small children must be received at the stoppage by a parent / guardian.
6. One way usage of the School Conveyance is not entertained.
7. Students who avail the transport facility must maintain discipline in the transport. They must listen to the teacher, driver & conductor. Fighting or engaging in disruptive behaviour in the vehicle will be severely dealt with.
